Children's Fine Art Photography in Oakham Rutland
A few of my favourite portraits of Sophie from a recent Children’s Fine Art Photography photo shoot. These were some of my best Children’s Fine Art portraits to date and I wanted to submit them into monthly photography competitions for the associations that I’m a member of. I was honoured to have received several awards from the Master Photographers Association, The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and The Guild of Photographers including three Highly Commended awards and a Silver bar.
Why do I enter competitions? It’s always nice to receive an accolade for your work, but competitions go beyond that. Photography is mostly an unregistered industry, you can qualify with several professional bodies and associations like I have but there is no requirement.
The benefit to the photographer and to customers is assurance of the quality of photography. To be a professional photographer requires additional skill, talent and creativity that goes beyond what customers can produce themselves, this is the service we offer.
I can offer a better photography service to my customers, at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about. Competition results provide a feedback mechanism from persons with no emotional attachment so is truly honest.
Oh, and it’s amazing when I get to tell clients that a portrait of their child has won an award!
